A Townhouse in Hammersmith
At Chloe Jonason Interiors, we love bringing timeless elegance to our clients’ homes, and this Victorian London townhouse was a joy to work on. We supplied curtains, blinds and upholstery, helping to create a beautifully curated space that balances practicality with charm.
Budget: A Thoughtful Approach to Budgeting
Our client had a realistic budget but had her heart set on some very special fabrics. To ensure she could invest in standout pieces without exceeding her budget, we advised her to splurge on the blinds, while opting for high-quality plain fabricson the larger curtains that would be both cost-effective and timeless.
Specifications: Prioritising Blackout & Privacy
Creating a restful atmosphere was essential. The client required blackout solutions for the bedrooms, which we prioritised in the installation. For the living room and kitchen, privacy was key, so we supplied sheer curtains that provided an airy, elegant feel while maintaining discretion. A Two-Stage InstallationTo ensure a smooth transition into the home, we installed in two stages:
- Bedrooms first – Ensuring blackout curtains were in place so the client could enjoy restful nights from day one.
- The rest of the home – Once the essentials were in, we installed the remaining soft furnishings, completing the transformation.
Design: Curating a Calming Sanctuary
The client envisioned a soothing retreat, embracing calming pastels and neutrals with patterned materials woven into the mix. In the bedroom, the wallpaper—a piece the client had been dreamscaping for years—played a major role in guiding the design. We carefully selected materials, colours and patterns to complement her favourite fabrics and wallpapers, ensuring a harmonious flow throughout the home.
Challenges: A Show-Stopping Banquette
One of the most exciting elements of this project was a stunning banquette seating area. At over 4 metres long, it presented a unique challenge – installation required it to be assembled on-site, and its sheer size meant a two-man delivery and installation team. The client chose a touch of aubergine as base of inspiration, not a colour that people often go for but it worked wonders here! It was a nail-biting but rewarding process and we were thrilled with the final result.
Results: A Cosy, Timeless Home
The completed project is a cosy, calming sanctuary, designed to stand the test of time. With its beautiful soft furnishings and carefully curated details, this home is sure to bring comfort and joy to the client for many years to come.
Clients Feedback
"Chloe offers a fantastic fully bespoke service for all things upholstery. I had a beautiful almost 3m long banquette bench made for seating alongside our kitchen table, which I am thrilled with, and she made curtains for the whole house including 3 bedrooms, bathroom blinds, and sheers downstairs. She has a great eye and helped suggest what would look good and guided me through the whole process. Very efficient too time-wise. Couldn’t recommend more."
